- My BIM’s bigger than your BIM!, Franz Hein (Woods Bagot)
- Realising the advantages of BIM, Phil Calvert (A.G. Coombs)
- 5D: Today’s Workflow for Cost Certainty, Maoibh Russell (Mitchell Brandtman)
- Objects of Desire …….BIM objects that we all might want?, Scott Beazley (QUT & Mitchell Brandtman)
Some words from the BrisBIM Linkedin site:
“Welcome to BrisBIM
Our purpose is to facilitate and bring together the built environment community within the greater Brisbane region, to share and exchange thoughts and knowledge in respect to technology innovation across the industry.
The non-profit group intends to meet bi-monthly and provide a range of topics from technical, managerial through to business and aspirational. The committee believes in providing an avenue for clients, practitioners, contractors and interested parties to come together in an informal gathering to discuss learn and share from others in the industry.
Our LinkedIn group is intended for discussion, as an extension of our regular gatherings. If you have something on your mind or need advice and you can’t wait until the next meeting, then this is the place. But remember, like any functioning community, everyone pitches in. So if you receive help through the group then in return spread the word about BrisBIM. Don’t forget we are always seeking community members as speakers at future events; whether it is case studies, best practice, collaboration issues, technical problems, etc. There is no obligation, just community spirit.”
This is a first of its kind as far as I know in Australia; A gathering of industry professionals wanting to learn from each other and help pave the way into the future with regard to technology.
Check out the website for more http://brisbim.com/ and have a look at the Reader poll for interest sake to see what topics are of interest – BIM Collaboration being the highest.
The next gathering will be “5:30 PM Wednesday 19 Jun 2013, QUT – Room TBC, Brisbane, QLD.” I hope to see you there.
